2017 High Holiday Information

Congregation Etz Chaim welcomes you to spend the High Holidays with us in the tranquility and beauty of Sharon, Massachusetts!

The High Holidays this year fall out on the following days/dates:


    • Rosh Hashanah:
      • Begins at sunset on Wednesday, 20 September 2017.
      • Ends at nightfall on Friday, 22 September 2017.
      • (Don’t forget that Rosh Hashanah this year flows right into Shabbat).

 

  • Yom Kippur:
    • Begins at sunset of Friday, 29 September 2017 .
    • Ends nightfall of Saturday, 30 September 2017.

 

  • Sukkot:
    • Begins at sunset of Wednesday, 4 October 2017 .
      • Both Thursday (5 October) and Friday (6 October) are chagim outside of Eretz Israel–no work is permitted on these days.
      • Don’t forget that the first two days of Sukkot this year flow right into Shabbat.
    • Ends nightfall of  Wednesday, 11 October 2017.
      • Hoshana Raba, the last day of Sukkot, begins at sunset on Tuesday (10 October) and ends at nightfall on Wednesday (11 October).
      • Shmini Atzeret begins at sunset on Wednesday (11 October) and ends at nightfall on Thursday (12 October).
      • Simchat Torah begins sunset on Thursday (12 October) and ends at nightfall on Friday (13 October).
      • Both Shmini Atzeret and Simchat Torah are chagim–no work is permitted on these days.
      • Don’t forget that Simchat Torah this year flows right into Shabbat.
